Training and professional development 

Ongoing training and professional development are essential in supporting staff and volunteers to become increasingly competent and confident over time in their specific areas of responsibility and across all areas of Public Protection. 

We provide opportunities for multi-agency training so that professionals can develop a shared understanding of roles, responsibilities and procedures for child and adult protection. Our training is free to staff and volunteers who work with children, young people and adults in East Lothian or Midlothian. 

Our training programme is led and managed by the East Lothian and Midlothian Public Protection Office.
